BRANOrost Chips are saturated with the premium VCI quality of BRANOpac and give excellent cushion and scratch protection for metallic components and surfaces. BRANOrost chips combine protection against damage and corrosion. By emitting constantly a small amount of active anticorrosion substances (VCI principle: Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor), BRANOrost Chips help to protect metal parts during transport and storage. In packages or containers lined with BRANOrost Chips, a protecting atmosphere is built up, which reliably prevents corrosion of metal parts even after having opened the package for a short time. BRANOrost Chips have a repository effect. BRANOrost Chips are lined in packages or adhered to hollow spaces with thick outer walls. The better the outer seal, the longer the protection will last.

BRANOrost Types

According to your application, BRANOrost Chips are available in three different performances.

BRANOrost Chip R(contains nitrite according to TRGS 615)

Protects steel, chromium, tin, pure aluminium and cast iron.

BRANOrost Chip U(nitrite free)

Protects steel , cast iron ( only on contact ) , zinc, chromium, copper, brass, bronze, pure aluminium and tin.

BRANOrost Chip M(nitrite free)

Protects steel, chromium, tin, pure aluminium and cast iron (only on contact).

Requirements

The metal is to be packaged clean, dry, corrosion-free and without remnants from earlier process steps. The denser the outer package, the more permanent is the protective effect.

Disposal

BRANOrost Chips products are marked with the Resy label and can be recycled in a material -or thermal utilisation. If such utilisation is not technically possible or reasonable, the material can, in accordance with local official regulations, be disposed of with domestic refuse or burned.

Operation safety

BRANOrost Chips corresponds to TRGS 615. Please see for further information the safety information sheet.

Storage and Duration of Protection

Should be stored cool and dry, protected from direct sunlight. Shelf-life in the original packaging up to three years.

For metal parts packaged with BRANOrost Chips, depending on the climatic conditions and closeness of package, the term of protection can be up to three years.
